Terms of use

These terms set out how you may use the Accu website and the conditions that apply to enquiries, quotations and service requests. By using the site, you agree to these terms and to any additional written conditions that apply to specific calibration or collection work.

1. Using the website responsibly

You may use this website to learn about our measuring instruments, calibration services and courier collection options, and to submit enquiries through the contact form. You must use the site lawfully, honestly and in a way that does not interfere with its operation or with any other user's access. You may not misuse the site to send false requests, automated spam, or content that is unlawful, offensive or misleading.

The site content is intended for businesses and professionals who need accurate measurement support in South Africa, including operations in Isando, Kempton Park, Edenvale, Germiston, Boksburg, Jet Park, Meadowdale and Midrand. Information on the site may change without notice, especially where service availability, lead times or collection arrangements are affected by demand, courier schedules or municipal access rules.

2. Enquiries, quotations and acceptance of work

Submitting an enquiry does not create a contract. Any quotation issued by Accu, or by Astros Marketing (Pty) Ltd acting on our instructions, is subject to confirmation, scope review and acceptance in writing. A job only becomes active once the work has been approved and the relevant details have been confirmed, including the instrument type, quantity, required calibration method and collection or delivery arrangements.

  • All prices are quoted in Rand unless stated otherwise.
  • Quoted turnaround times are estimates and may vary if instruments require additional testing or repair referral.
  • Accu may decline work where the item is unsafe, incomplete or unsuitable for calibration.

If you request courier collection, you remain responsible for ensuring the items are packed properly and ready for handover. We are not liable for delays caused by incomplete addresses, access restrictions or failed collection attempts.

3. Calibration standards and service conditions

Our calibration services are intended to support measurement accuracy for calipers, micrometers, gauges, indicators, height gauges, torque tools, force gauges, pressure gauges, temperature instruments, humidity instruments and multimeters. Each instrument is assessed according to its condition, range and stated use. Where applicable, calibration results are recorded against the relevant standard or acceptance criteria agreed for the job.

Clients must disclose known faults, signs of damage, contamination, previous repairs and any special handling requirements before submission. Instruments supplied for calibration should be reasonably clean and complete. If an item arrives with missing parts or evidence of misuse, the service outcome may be limited, or additional charges may apply for inspection and rework. We do not guarantee that calibration will correct physical wear or restore equipment to a condition beyond its design limits.

4. Courier collection, handling and risk

Courier collection is offered nationwide, subject to route availability and operational capacity. Once an item has been handed to the nominated courier or collected from your premises, responsibility for physical transit conditions passes according to the applicable service arrangement. Packaging remains the sender's duty unless we have agreed in writing to provide special packing or handling.

  • Use strong packaging suitable for precision instruments and fragile items.
  • Remove loose accessories, batteries or consumables unless required for testing.
  • Include any reference numbers, internal job cards or collection notes requested by our team.

We are not responsible for damage caused by inadequate packing, exposure to moisture, or conditions outside our control, including delays caused by traffic, weather or access limitations in industrial areas.

5. Intellectual property and site content

All text, images, layouts, service descriptions and related material on this website belong to Accu or are used with permission. You may not copy, reproduce, adapt or publish site content for commercial use without prior written consent. Limited viewing for legitimate business purposes is permitted, provided that you do not remove notices or present the content as your own.

Any trade names, product descriptions or technical references appearing on the site are used for identification and service purposes only. Nothing on the site should be read as granting a licence to use our content, branding or calibration documents without authorisation.

6. Liability limits and practical exclusions

Accu takes reasonable care to provide accurate information and dependable calibration services, but we cannot accept unlimited responsibility for every outcome. To the extent permitted by South African law, we are not liable for indirect loss, lost profit, business interruption, data loss or consequential damage arising from website use, delayed collections, instrument downtime or reliance on information that has not been confirmed in writing.

Our liability, where established, is limited to the value of the specific service provided. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot lawfully be excluded. Clients remain responsible for maintaining their own records, backups and production planning, especially where a calibration interval affects compliance or quality control.

7. Governing law and contact for disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any dispute arising from website use, quotations or service instructions will be handled in good faith and, where possible, through direct engagement with our team in Isando, Kempton Park.

If you need clarification on these terms, please use the enquiry form on our contact page. We may update these terms from time to time to reflect legal, operational or service changes. Continued use of the website after an update means you accept the revised terms.
